Have a Merry Christmas… Even While Pregnant
Christmas day can be difficult for a pregnant woman. This is finally the day your older kids have been anticipating. The presents are under the tree and the Christmas turkey is in the oven. How can you best enjoy the day while your soon-to-be kiddo is kicking you all day?
Slow Down
Christmas is a time to relax. Make sure you are not over-doing things. The day will be perfect enough if you do not stress yourself out. Take some time to slow down and ask others to help with some of the preparation. You might have extended family over, or maybe other family members will step up. It may be the best Christmas present they give you.
Have Christmas at Home
Many families have a lot of traditions about the holidays. Sometimes we need are pushed to attend too many meals at relative’s houses. It is perfectly fine, as a pregnant woman, to stay home so you are already ready to relax when things get tiring. Your family will understand if you don’t want to travel too much during Christmas day.
Watch What You Eat
The best thing about Christmas may well be the cookies! We all love them, but what you are pregnant, you need to make sure you are eating better. You can certainly have a few cookies, but try not to overdo the desserts and goodies. Also, it is probably best to pass on the spiked eggnog while you are pregnant.
These ideas will help you have a more restful holiday season. The bottom line of all this is to take care of yourself. Get plenty of rest and seek out help if you need it. No one will be offended if your pregnancy slows you down this year.
